My name is Rebecca and I am a recent BA (Hons) Games Design graduate. I am specialising in game and level design, which my portfolio is mostly centred around. I also enjoy working in UI and UX design on top of this.
I began my journey into games design when I realised during my A levels that I no longer wanted to continue with maths or science into higher education. I wanted to do something that was equally fun, challenging and innovative. I always played video games as an escape so looked into computing based courses, but they were too technical for the creative side of me. I stumbled upon the games design degree course I am currently on and applied for it!
Before University, I had never touched a game engine or modelling software, but I had played around with photoshop and a Minecraft based animation software. Almost three years later, I have learnt so much and am eager to learn so much more and make the games I constantly played as a child, teenager and an adult!
However, I do not think I could pick one game as my favourite, I love so many for different reasons. I love the nostalgia of The Simpsons Hit & Run, the storytelling in The Last of Us: Part 2, the freedom of The Sims, the competitiveness of Overwatch (now Overwatch 2), I could go on!
